Bosch
Tarots were
created in 1997-98 by idea of Pietro Alligo from Lo Scarabeo Publishing
House. The authors aimed at preserving the spirit of the great Ieronimus
Bosch and conveying the magnificence of his paintings into a pack of 78
Tarots cards.
The original paintings have been
performed with water colours on paper, size 10/20.
Mantegna Tarots were
created in 1999-2000, commisioned by Lo Scarabeo Publishing House. Atanas
Atanasov has used the original drawings of the well-known Andrea Mantegna
cards as basis, creating a pictorial version, ultimately trying to keep
close to the style of the famous Italian artist. The paintings are done
with water colours on paper.
Tsar's Tarots were
created in the period between 2000-2001 by idea of Pietro Alligo from
Lo Scarabeo Publishing House. These cards have been performed with tempera
on wood-an original technology used in the Middle Ages, ecpecially for
painting Orthodox icons in Byzantium, Bulgaria, Serbia and Russia. The
ideas were borrowed from Russian and Bulgarian icons.

Yassen
Gyuselev painted the big arcanes for Leonardo
Tarot in 1991. His cards
became incredibly successfull among connoisseurs world-wide. 10 years
later, Lo Scarabeo commissioned Atanas Atanasov the far from easy task
to paint the small arcanes in the same style. The artists have been close
friends for more than twenty years. Both have studied art at the High
School of Fine Arts with Professor Plamen Valchev.
